Concrete Contractors in Toronto | Valiant Concrete Finishing

Toronto Concrete Driveways, Patios and Slabs

Tight lots, laneway access and ground that has been built on for a century make Toronto a different job than the suburbs around it. Valiant Concrete Finishing pours backyard patios, garage floors, structural slabs and equipment pads for homeowners and businesses across the city, with the site preparation, drainage and reinforced forming that decides whether the finish lasts. We work throughout Leslieville, East York, The Junction, North York, Scarborough and Etobicoke.

New concrete patio slab in a fenced Toronto backyard

Leslieville

Backyard Patio Slab

A narrow city backyard with no rear access. Soil was excavated and barrowed out, a gravel base compacted for drainage, wire mesh laid, then 5 inch concrete placed and finished tight to the fence line and the existing stone steps.

New concrete garage floor poured and finished in Toronto

East York

Garage Floor Replacement

The old floor had cracked and settled near the side door. We broke it out, excavated the soil, compacted a gravel base, laid wire mesh and placed 5 inch concrete, finished flush to the apron so nothing catches at the door.

240 sq ft | 1 day on site
Reinforced concrete equipment pad poured beside a commercial building in Toronto

Etobicoke

Commercial Equipment Pad

A reinforced pad formed to spec beside the building, with a service opening cast in and conduit left proud for the trades. Excavated to grade, compacted granular base, mesh through the pour, then 5 inch concrete with clean edges and a level finish.

Concrete Built for Toronto Conditions

Three things that decide whether a Toronto slab lasts.

Tight Access

Most City Lots Have No Way In

Semis, row houses and narrow side yards mean machines often cannot reach the back. We plan access before we quote, whether that means barrowing material through by hand or pumping the pour over the house, so the price you get already accounts for it.

Permits & The Right of Way

The City Owns the Boulevard

Anything touching the boulevard, the curb or a new front pad falls under City of Toronto right of way and front yard parking rules, not your property line. We tell you which category your job is in at the estimate, before you have paid anyone.

Old Ground

You Rarely Know What Is Underneath

On older Toronto properties a slab is often sitting on fill, buried footings or a previous pour nobody removed. We dig it out and rebuild on a compacted granular base rather than pouring over the problem, and we tell you what we find as we find it.

Toronto Concrete Questions

How do you get concrete into a backyard with no rear access?

Two ways. Either we barrow it through the side yard or the house by hand, or we bring in a pump truck and run the line over the roof. Which one it is depends on the width of the access and the size of the pour, and we work that out before quoting so the price already includes it.

Do I need a permit for concrete work in Toronto?

Work inside your property line, such as a backyard patio or a garage floor, generally does not. Anything touching the boulevard, the curb or a new front pad falls under City of Toronto right of way and front yard parking rules. We tell you which category your job is in at the estimate.

My house is old. Does that change the job?

Usually yes. On older Toronto properties a slab is often sitting on fill, buried footings or a previous pour nobody removed. We dig it out and rebuild on a compacted base rather than pouring over the problem, and we tell you what we find as we find it.

Can you work on a narrow semi or row house lot?

Most of our city work is exactly that. Tight side yards, no machine access and neighbours a few feet away are normal here. It changes the labour, not whether the job can be done.

How much does a concrete patio cost in Toronto?

Priced by measured square footage, with access factored in. A small backyard slab that has to be barrowed through the house takes more labour than the same slab on an open lot. Published pricing by size is on our pricing pages.

Will my driveway or laneway be blocked?

On pour day, usually yes, and we tell you which day that is when we book. Mixer and pump access has to be arranged in advance on city streets, and we sort that out rather than leaving it to you.

Which parts of Toronto do you cover?

Across the city, including Leslieville, East York, The Junction, North York, Scarborough and Etobicoke, plus the surrounding GTA.
