A wood-burning or gas fire pit can sit on concrete, and it is one of the most common uses for our 12x12 slabs. Sustained high heat can mark the surface over years, so we recommend a heat shield or pit stand under wood burners, and we can point you to what works when we see the setup.

Slope. Every patio we pour is graded a small, deliberate amount away from the house so rain runs off instead of ponding or heading at your foundation. It is invisible underfoot and it is the difference between a dry patio and a skating rink every spring.

Standard broom finish is included in the published price. Exposed aggregate and stamped patterns are available as upgrades, priced upfront at the estimate. The finish changes the look, not the durability, which comes from the base, the mix and the joints underneath.

Light furniture can go on after about a week. We suggest holding heavy planters and anything that concentrates weight on small feet until the slab reaches fuller strength, and the written cure instructions we leave on the last day give you the exact dates for your pour.

For a four-person set, comfortably. For a six-person table with chairs pulled out, it gets tight, and stepping up to the 14x14 or 16x16 usually costs less than people expect because the crew, forming and truck are already on site. We will tell you honestly at the estimate which size fits how you actually plan to use it.
